Hawaiki Submarine Cable Landing Station

Modular construction to save cost and fast-track start-up

The Hawaiki submarine cable provides 43 terabits of carrier-neutral data capacity to Hawaii through six fiber pairs connecting the cable landing station in Kapolei to the U.S. west coast, Australia, New Zealand and American Samoa. The submarine cable was installed by horizontal directional drilling along its 9,300-mile trans-Pacific alignment surfacing at the Kapolei station. The design team worked on numerous aspects of the station development from securing entitlements to serving as civil engineers of record for the site improvements and landside cable installation.
